BARIATRIC NURSE SPECIALIST,
Louise is a Master Practitioner in eating disorders and obesity with diplomas in psychological interventions for eating disorders, nutritional interventions for eating disorders and essential obesity. She is also a practitioner in EFT (emotional freedom technique).
Following bariatric surgery behavioural change is essential to achieve long term success. Louise works with patients to motivate and break down barriers, enabling long term positive changes in behaviour.
Food is often used as a way of managing uncomfortable emotions, whether that is, for example: anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, self sabotage, dealing with guilt, shame or past traumas. Food can help induce feelings of calmness and is often used as a method of self soothing. Louise helps our patients find alternative psychologically healthier ways of dealing with these uncomfortable emotions.
